Keli Rosa Cabunoc Romero, MA, Executive Director

Keli Rosa Cabunoc Romero is a Chicana dancer, musician, teatrista, performer, artivista, and first-generation scholar from Santa Ana, California. She counts with a long record of community activism, social justice, and involvement in traditional music and dance. She received an MA in Bicultural Studies from UTSA, focusing her research on the roots, practice, and survival of son jarocho; as well as Chicano/a/x identity. Keli Rosa is a profesora of Mexican American Studies at Northwest Vista College, a multidisciplinary teaching artist, and facilitates FREE community talleres at El Tallercito de Son, using son jarocho as a tool to create a space for Chicanos/as/xs to research, document, and give voice to the Chicano/a/x experience in the US.
