Conjunto Heritage Taller offers courses in music theory as part of our core curriculum.
Currently, these courses are offered online only.
Music Theory I
March 11, 2021 – May 27, 2021
Thursdays, 6:30pm – 8:00pm
In this course, students will learn the basics of Music Theory and how to apply this knowledge to Conjunto performance. Students will learn basic concepts such as reading and writing sheet music, building scales, and the basic chordal structures of Conjunto Music. Live Online Classes will take place one time a week on Thursdays from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM via Google Meet and the entire course will take place over twelve weeks.
Music Theory II
MARCH 9, 2021 – MAY 25, 2021
Tuesdays, 6:30pm – 8:00pm
In this course, students will learn about All Triads in Major, Seventh Chords, Roman Numeral Chordal Analysis, Key Changes, and Common Forms in Conjunto Music. Live Online Classes will take place one time a week on Tuesdays from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM via Google Meet and the entire course will take place over twelve weeks.
Students must have completed Music Theory I or pass the preliminary exam prior to enrolling in this course.
