In response to the health crisis surrounding COVID-19, Conjunto Heritage Taller has made the difficult, but necessary decision to suspend all programming until further notice. More than half of the Conjunto Heritage Taller student body is made up of senior citizens, 65 years of age or older, many of whom have underlying, chronic health conditions such as diabetes. Additionally, 4 of our 5 instructors are also over the age of 65. The Center for Disease Control defines “older adults” as persons 65 years and older. Older adults, especially those who have underlying health conditions, are at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19. Additionally, our intergenerational community also includes children, adolescents, and their families.
Since a large number of our student/instructor population falls into the vulnerable population, the suspension of Conjunto Heritage Taller programming was an imperative measure to protect our students, instructors, staff, and community.
Conjunto Heritage Taller continues to monitor guidelines and recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and state and local governments as developments evolve surrounding COVID-19.

“In the end, it will be impossible to know if we overreacted or did too much, but it will be quite apparent if we under reacted or did too little.”
